Taking in the gargantuan size of the Sequoia tree is a breathtaking experience. Groves of trees seemingly meant for another world. The stuff of fairy tales and myth, yet truly rooted here in our world. One can hardly stand in the midst of this garden, look at these magnificent plants, and not ponder the awesomeness of God.
This picture was taken near the Tunnel Log in Sequoia NP after driving through the 8’ high 17’ wide passage. The log fell across the road in December 1937. The following summer a CCC crew cut what has become a popular attraction in the park. There’s something special about driving through a 275’ long, 21’ wide log.
