Ice Fishin’ On The Missouri

As the weather gets colder I get emotionally warmer. Fall and winter call to mind memories of days gone by with friends and family, like ice fishin’ on North Dakota’s Missouri River, riding a Polaris RZR  through the ice and into the water, and warming up with peppermint schnapps and belly laughs. Good times!

Autumn Crossing

The barrenness of fall is just across the tracks. Soon the blossoming autumn colors will give way to the skeletal remains and dreary days that call to mind empty death and lonely decay, at least, that is, for those who see the fruitlessness of branches in a typological sort of way.

Photograph taken near Indian Dunes National Beach, IN.

Just Around The Bend

Whether the road is black top, dirt, or a game trail, the mystery of what lay just around the bend propels the adventurer to push on – keep going. It’s hope. It’s curiosity. It’s that which taps into man’s compulsion to explore, to investigate, to know this world he calls home.

This bend is along the secluded Balsam Mountain Road in North Carolina’s Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

All The Small Things

It’s easy to look at the world around you and feel overwhelmed, especially when it all seems to be out of control. When that happens it can be helpful to look at the small things – the little things that normally go unnoticed. See the beauty of the order that lays, unscathed, just beneath the apparent chaos. In all the small things we see evidence for He who is greater than this world – the One who is always in control.
